Today I decided to take Alina out to a nice Lunch. With her being a big fan of Singaporean food we decided to go to fusion Singaporean Restaurant Straits Though pricey this is certainly no P.F. Chang’s - Straits’ boasts an authentic menu and a nice upscale loungey surrounding with food that isn’t overly Americanized. My only complaint was the Rendang beef that we ordered came with chunks of beef that were huge and hard to cut. Also we ordered a ‘Lemon Grass Soda’ which is nothing more than a Mojito sans liquor but still very tasty.

In all honesty the food at Straits is delicious and beautifully presented but unless you’re looking to entertain a lady friend or some buddies and spend a night out at down with a full bar the food just really isn’t worth the price.

So today Alina and I decided to eat lunch at the Hally K Ono Cafe and I have to say - its a pretty awesome place. Its located in a quaint little house right next to Iguanas and Hydration on Third St. and features a nice selection of exotic Hawaiian inspired sandwiches and wraps.

I opted for the Islander Turkey Wrap which was more of a sandwich but nonetheless delicious. Packed with a combination of Brie, Mango, and Turkey it was a very nice lite refreshing meal. Every sandwich comes with a choice of Fries, Garlic Fries or a Salad (pictured) which is pretty good as well.

If you enjoy a nice chilled out cafe with good food and great service and just happen to be in the downtown San Jose area, you should go check it out.

so… since alvin is taking FOREVER to do something with this site — i decided to make it all flowery and pink so he’ll get crackin on my doodle looking layout![watch him complain how girly the page is and how sappy it makes him feel.. hahaha]
oh and.. to get this started, we went to eat at super taqueria and it was alright…… but i came home and had the FATTEST stomache ache, it was terrible! i think it was the salsa/onions/cilontro that was left out… you know how some taquerias leave their salsa out the whole day and something happens to it.. and you eat it and end up having a fat stomache ache? yeahh.. that’s what it was like! oh and the tortilla was dry. ouchhh! my stomache!
